Perodua Alza - Excellent Fuel Economy

Continuation of Proton Exora effect, Perodua also going to set off a bomb in local automotive market with its new compact MPV car called Perodua Alza. It is a re badge of Toyota Passo Sette and Daihatsu Boon Luminas.

Perodua Alza is installed with 3SZ-VE 1.5cc engine type, which is best known for excellent fuel economy, smooth pickup and acceleration. The fuel tank capacity is 42liter. It’s fuel consumption rate is claimed to has average 15.47km/l for manual transmission and 12.74km/l for auto transmission.

Compare with Proton Exora which officially revealed that it has consumed 9.2liter per 100km, Perodua Alza can be considered quite good. Still, Proton Exora has its strong point. It has 125hp which much higher than Alza. Meanwhile, when talking about size, overall Alza has slightly smaller interior space as compare to Exora. So, these criteria might not be the main concern when buyer has to choose between them.

Finally came to the most important portion which is the price. Perodua Alza pricing will be set at RM56, 000 to RM65, 000 that cheaper than Proton Exora. This is a fair price for such size and quality. For those who have big family but not willing to spend too much, this is an excellent choice. If you compare it with MPVs like Grand Livina, Chery Eastar, Naza Citra, Kia Rondo and Honda Odyssey, which cost higher, Perodua Alza really worthwhile since it is The New Perodua MPV Car.

First MPV Perodua - Perodua Alza

Malaysian Second MPV after Proton Exora

Perodua is second car maker from Malaysia. First car maker is Proton. Perodua Alza is First MPV Perodua. Recently in Malaysia, MPV is become trend of people lifestyle.

The highest specification level of the Perodua Alza is actually a model called the Perodua Alza Advanced Version, which is basically based on the Perodua Alza 1.5 Automatic Premium and Manual Premium but with a few additional specifications.

Basically, You get a new body kit which consists of front, rear and side skirts and a different rear spoiler. On the inside, you get leather seat covers for all the seats, but the leather treatment does not continue onto the door trim. Also provided is a 5 inch touch screen LCD which has a Windows CE-based GPS navigation system with a SiRF Atlas IV chipset and 500MHz CPU. The LCD also displays a feed from a 150 degree lenses reverse camera.

Finally, there is tinted film for all the glass in the Alza which Perodua claims is GPS and SmartTAG friendly. Perodua states the specifications as following: 95% IR rejection, 99% UV rejection, 70% light for the front windscreen and about over 50% light for the rest of the glass. This tint has a 5 year warranty against peeling, oxidisation, cracking, discoloration and fading.

The Perodua Alza is be based on the Toyota Passo Sette (also known as the Daihatsu Boon Luminas) and has been called the codename Perodua D46T for the development stage. Being engineered from an existing Toyota and Daihatsu model, the only surprise for us usually is the cars refreshed and Perodua-ised exterior looks but even for that.
